Stored XSS via raw resolver URL rendering
Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026
Stored XSS in OpenWrt LuCI's HTTPS DNS Proxy status page allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The status helper reads resolver_url from service.list command data, derives a display name, and passes that unescaped string into LuCI's raw HTML append path. A user limited to the app's delegated ACL can plant the payload; execution requires an administrator to open the status page and grants same-origin access to LuCI actions and router state.
