Authenticated schema tampering via unguarded ALTER TYPE
Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026
Missing authorization in ArcadeDB before 26.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter persisted type schema through SQL. LocalDocumentType.setCustomValue and setBucketSelectionStrategy mutate metadata and routing state without enforcing the UPDATE_SCHEMA permission. Read-only database access is sufficient, and changes can corrupt schema metadata or alter record routing without directly modifying record data.
