Pre-auth JavaScript execution via unescaped bearer token
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Reflected XSS in RabbitMQ Server 4.2.0 through 4.2.7 and 4.3.0 through 4.3.1 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript via bootstrap requests. The set_token_auth/2 function concatenates a bearer token from the Authorization header or access_token cookie into a single-quoted JavaScript call without escaping or validation. Pre-authentication exposure requires management.oauth_enabled; the cookie path also requires planting the cookie, and execution in an administrator's browser grants access to the management HTTP API.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 4.2.0, < 4.2.8
