Authentication bypass via issuer-serial certificate matching
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Authentication bypass in RabbitMQ Server before 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0 allows remote attackers to forge client identity. The trust-store verify_fun accepts a self-signed certificate when its attacker-controlled issuer DN and serial match an ETS whitelist entry, without comparing its key, fingerprint, signature, or DER. Exploitation requires the trust-store plugin as the TLS verifier and knowledge of a whitelisted issuer and serial; the forged certificate can complete TLS and authenticate as its chosen subject when certificate login is used.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
