Appointment tampering via unrestricted token-authorized field updates
Published Oct 10, 2026 · Updated Oct 10, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Simply Schedule Appointments allows remote attackers to alter appointments via the token-based REST API. The appointment update endpoint accepts administrator-controlled fields from token-authenticated customers instead of limiting writable fields. An appointment's public token, rather than a WordPress login, permits falsifying its payment confirmation, reassigning its user, or changing its service type.
