LDAP identity confusion via unescaped username substitution
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
LDAP DN injection in RabbitMQ Server allows remote attackers to alter the LDAP bind identity through a crafted username. The fill/2 function substitutes ${username} into user_dn_pattern without RFC 4514 escaping, and the resulting distinguished name is used for the LDAP simple bind. Exploitation requires the LDAP plugin, a pattern containing ${username}, a useful directory layout, and a password valid for the resulting entry, which can represent a more privileged identity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
