Calling-thread hang via negative non-secure size

Infinite loop in Nano ID before 3.3.16 and 4.0.0 through 5.1.15 allows attackers to hang a calling thread via a negative size. The non-secure customAlphabet and nanoid functions decrement a negative loop counter, so the counter never reaches the exit condition. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass an unvalidated attacker-controlled negative size; the resulting busy loop interrupts that thread.
