Authenticated backup access via precedence-broken permission check
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Authorization bypass in Wolf CMS 0.8.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to access administrator-only backup functions. The BackupRestoreController::_checkPermission() expression negates AuthUser::getId() before comparing it with 1, so every nonzero user ID passes the intended administrator check. Any authenticated non-administrative account can create, download, restore, and configure backups, exposing CMS data and enabling disruptive state changes.
