Arbitrary file read via unnormalized path concatenation
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Path traversal in Perspective 5.0.0 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through crafted HTTP URL paths. The cwd_static_file_handler concatenates each configured asset root with the raw request URL and reads the result without normalization or a containment check. Any network client that can reach a server using this bundled handler can retrieve files outside the asset root; wildcard CORS also exposes returned contents cross-origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
