Service hang via unbounded loop expressions
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Denial of service in Perspective 5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to hang the server through a crafted expression. The C++ expression engine accepts for and while constructs in TableMakeViewReq without an iteration cap, deadline, or cancellation check. A client able to create a view can monopolize the Tornado IOLoop, leaving the process running but unresponsive to every connected client.
