Stored XSS via unescaped Debug plugin CSV
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Perspective 5.0.0 allows attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted table data rendered by the Debug plugin. The built-in Debug plugin's draw() method serializes a view to CSV and assigns the unescaped result to a pre element through innerHTML. The payload executes when no visualization plugin is registered and the fallback Debug plugin renders attacker-controlled table content, granting script access in the embedding page's origin.
