Stack buffer overflow in GIMP's file-png plugin on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 through 9 allows attackers to crash it via a crafted APNG. The APNG parser accepts an oversized tRNS chunk, causing transparency data to overflow a stack buffer in file-png. The image must be opened or processed, and the documented consequence is a file-png plugin crash.
