CVE-2026-66902Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary command execution via ungated credential executable

Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Command injection in Google::Auth before 0.06 allows context-dependent attackers to execute commands via external-account credentials. Google::Auth::ExternalAccountCredentials::Pluggable::retrieve_subject_token passes the credential's command string to a single-argument system call, causing Perl to invoke /bin/sh -c on the entire string. The path requires an application to load a configuration it does not fully control, and commands run with that application's privileges.
