Service crash via missing multiplexed message name
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Apache Thrift c_glib multiplexed processing before 0.25.0 allows attackers to crash a service with a nameless message. The thrift_multiplexed_processor_process_impl function passes a missing method name to strtok_r after a successful header read, leaving its token state uninitialized. The crash requires a protocol that reports success without supplying a name; Apache states that the standard binary and compact protocols supply one.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
