Package disclosure via missing restricted-account authorization
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Authorization bypass in Gitea 1.27.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read other users' packages via registry requests. The user-owner branch of determineAccessMode grants read access for Limited-visibility owners without checking whether the requesting account is restricted. An authenticated restricted account can enumerate and download those owners' package contents; the documented impact is disclosure, not package modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
