SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in Integrated Systems Technologies, Inc. NetKids iMark 5.2.5.0 and earlier allows local users to run code as SYSTEM. The installer registers the nkmsgService ImagePath as C:\Program Files\Netkids\iMarkV5\nkmsg\nkmsgService.exe without enclosing the path in quotation marks. A local user with write access to an earlier space-delimited path segment can have the Windows service launch a malicious executable with SYSTEM privileges.
