PHP service crash via wire-sized stack buffer
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Apache Thrift PHP bindings before 0.25.0 allows remote attackers to crash a PHP service via crafted strings. The native binary_deserialize path allocates a stack array using the wire-supplied 32-bit string length plus one, then reads the declared number of bytes into it without bounding the stack allocation. Exposure requires parsing untrusted Thrift messages through the optional PHP protocol extension; code execution has not been established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
