Victim-browser script execution via insecure CSS metadata parsing
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Cross-site scripting in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. The lightspeed.js component in WebDynpro parses and executes metadata from CSS stylesheets during loading instead of treating it as untrusted data. Exploitation requires an authenticated victim to load the crafted link and permissive external-stylesheet hardening; the script can access the victim's web session and alter page content without interrupting service.
