Out-of-bounds read in GIMP on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9 allows attackers to disclose heap data or crash GIMP via crafted ICNS images. The file-icns plugin's icns_decompress function advances through a truncated mask resource without checking the cursor against the allocated buffer and emits read heap bytes as alpha values. Exploitation requires a user to process the malicious image; impact is limited to heap-content disclosure or an application crash.
