Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Stored XSS in the Typing Effect plugin before 1.3.7 allows remote authenticated users to inject script via crafted shortcode attributes. Before the 1.3.7 patch, nine93Typed::do_shortcode copied every supplied shortcode attribute into data-* attributes on the generated span and did not escape values or reject unexpected keys. A contributor who can place the typed shortcode in content can persist JavaScript that runs in other users' browsers when an injected page is viewed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
