Stored XSS via raw embed rendering
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Stored XSS in Featured Video Plus 2.3.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in visitors' browsers via featured-video input. The metabox save path accepts the fvp_video field, classifies tagged input as provider raw, and later renders meta full with do_shortcode(), while the Legal HTML setting can whitelist iframe, embed, or object tags. Exploitation requires contributor-level post editing and, per the plugin settings code, administrator-enabled insecure raw embed handling; when reached, script executes in the site's origin wherever the featured video is displayed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
