Administrator session hijacking via skipped origin validation
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Origin validation bypass in Ylianst MeshCentral 1.1.21 allows remote attackers to hijack administrator sessions through WebSockets. CheckWebServerOriginName() returns true without comparing the Origin hostname when the deployment uses an untrusted self-signed certificate. An authenticated administrator must load attacker-controlled content; successful exploitation exposes the session-signing key, enabling forged user sessions and control of managed devices.
