CVE-2026-66401Public exploitHinoki check available

Service interruption via short UVC descriptor overread

Published Aug 1, 2026 · Updated Aug 1, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in FreeRDP before 3.29.0 allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt a Linux RDP client with a malicious USB camera. The rdpecam V4L descriptor walker checks only type and subtype before memcmp reads a 16-byte GUID from a four-byte extension-unit descriptor. The victim must select the attached camera for redirection; the demonstrated effect is an out-of-bounds read that aborts sanitizer builds and can crash the client.
