CVE-2026-6638Network attack vector

Arbitrary SQL execution via unquoted object names

Published May 14, 2026 · Updated May 14, 2026

SQL injection in PostgreSQL 16 before 16.14, 17 before 17.10, and 18 before 18.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute SQL. ALTER SUBSCRIPTION ... REFRESH PUBLICATION interpolates subscriber-controlled schema and relation names into publisher-side SQL without quoting them. A user who can create a subscriber table must wait for a subscription refresh, which executes the injected statement with the subscription's publication-side credentials.
