Configuration injection via unescaped authentication fields
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026
Configuration injection in F5 NGINX Gateway Fabric 2.5.0 through 2.6.7 allows remote authenticated users to inject directives. The configuration generator renders clientID, cookieName, and referenced clientSecret values into NGINX templates without sanitization or escaping. Kubernetes RBAC write access to the affected resources and an NGINX Plus data plane are required; injected directives can alter control-plane-generated NGINX behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
