Authenticated file read via incomplete traversal filtering
Published Apr 20, 2026 · Updated Apr 20, 2026
Path traversal in PortalRunner Convert to it! allows remote authenticated users to read local files through crafted API paths. In buildCache.js, the Bun.serve handler derives a file path from URL.pathname and removes only literal '..' substrings before Bun.file resolves the result. The server listens on port 8080 during cache generation; successful access requires low-privileged authentication and affects confidentiality only.
