CVE-2026-66309Network attack vector

Remote authenticated privilege escalation

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 29, 2026

Improper access control in Microsoft Azure SQL Database allows remote authenticated users to elevate privileges over a network. Microsoft identifies an access-control failure but has not published the affected request, permission boundary, or incorrect authorization operation. Exploitation requires high privileges and no user interaction, and successful abuse can cross a security boundary to read or modify protected data and interrupt the service.
