Authenticated service interruption via unbounded partition allocation
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Resource exhaustion in RabbitMQ Server 4.1.0 through 4.1.10 and 4.2.0 through 4.2.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The validate_partitions function accepts any positive partition count and expands it with lists:seq without enforcing an upper bound, so a crafted request can allocate about 8 GB of memory. The rabbitmq_stream_management plugin must be enabled, and the caller must have the management tag plus access to the target virtual host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
