Broker crash via management API atom exhaustion
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Denial of service in affected RabbitMQ Server releases allows remote authenticated users to crash the broker through management API requests. The API node field reaches rabbit_nodes:make and list_to_atom before cluster-membership validation, permanently consuming an atom for each unique value. A user needs only the management tag and access to one virtual host; exhaustion crashes the Erlang VM and interrupts service for every tenant.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 3.13.0, < 3.13.15
- Affected versionversion=>= 4.0.0, < 4.0.20
