Service interruption via unbounded compressed header frames
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Apache Thrift C++ bindings before 0.25.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt services via compressed RPC frames. THeaderTransport uses a hard-coded frame ceiling rather than the configured maximum, while a zlib transform can expand a small received frame into a much larger payload. Exposure requires a reachable C++ Thrift endpoint that accepts compressed header-transport messages; excessive decompression can exhaust process memory and interrupt that service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
