Arbitrary file write via unchecked include paths
Published Jul 24, 2026 · Updated Jul 24, 2026
Path traversal in Blender MCP before 30a3308 allows attackers to write arbitrary files through crafted Poly Haven API responses. download_polyhaven_asset joins untrusted include dictionary keys beneath a temporary directory without rejecting absolute paths or traversal sequences before writing downloaded content. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle attacker or prompt injection to trigger a Poly Haven model download; resulting writes inherit the Blender user's filesystem permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
