Unauthenticated server tool execution via stale sanitization index
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Incorrect authorization in affected Pydantic AI packages allows remote attackers to execute registered server tools with forged arguments. The sanitizer selects the dangling-call target from the pre-sanitization list; dropping an empty trailing message exposes an unchecked assistant tool call that the resume path dispatches. Exploitation requires an exposed AG-UI or Vercel AI adapter and a non-approval tool; the consequence is bounded by that tool, while approval-gated tools remain paused.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 1.88.0, < 1.107.1

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
