Unauthorized SQL disclosure via missing debug ACL
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Authorization bypass in Vitess 24.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read live VReplication SQL data via /debug/vrlog. In go/vt/vttablet/tabletmanager/vreplication/vrlog.go, addHttpEndpoint() routes requests to vrlogStatsHandler() without calling acl.CheckAccessHTTP(r, acl.DEBUGGING), so the handler streams VrLogStats events and embedded SQL statements even when comparable debug endpoints enforce the configured policy. Exploitation requires network reachability to the vttablet debug HTTP port; the consequence is read-only disclosure of replicated statements and bound values, with no reported write or service-interruption path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
