CVE-2026-65942Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Traffic interception via mismatched TLS certificates

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

TLS hostname verification in Apache Ranger 2.8.0 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read intercepted client traffic. Ranger clients accept a CA-trusted certificate whose identity does not match the requested server hostname; Apache has not identified the affected client classes or published the faulty verification operation. Reachability requires an attacker positioned on the client-to-server network path, and the published impact is limited to confidentiality.
