Cross-site scripting via retained Trusted Types policy
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Cure53 DOMPurify 3.0.0 through 3.4.8 allows remote attackers to execute script at a Trusted Types sink. The _parseConfig() default and null paths leave trustedTypesPolicy unchanged, and clearConfig() clears other configuration without resetting that retained policy. Exploitation requires a shared instance, prior installation of an unsafe policy by a less-trusted integration, and a later RETURN_TRUSTED_TYPE call that sends its result to a sink.
