Local privilege escalation via use-after-free
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Use after free in Windows Autopilot before 10.0.26100.9168 and 10.0.26200.9168 allows local users to gain higher privileges. Microsoft has not published the affected routine or trigger sequence; public records say only that Autopilot reuses a freed object, leaving a stale reference in privileged code. Exploitation requires local authenticated access on Windows 11 version 24H2 or 25H2 and is rated high complexity, but no user interaction is required once the vulnerable path is reached.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
