Arbitrary file read via query-path override
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
Path traversal in Microweber CMS 2.0.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through an HTTP request. ServeStaticFileContoller::serveFromUserfiles() reads the path request property instead of the bound route segment, allowing a path query value to override route input while normalize_path() preserves traversal sequences. No authentication or interaction is required; one GET request can disclose any file readable by the web-server account, including environment secrets and system files.
