CVE-2026-65680

Local privilege escalation via link following

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Privilege escalation in Microsoft OneDrive for Mac before 26.095.0519.0003 allows local users to gain elevated privileges via link following. Microsoft has disclosed only that OneDrive resolves a link to an unintended resource before a file access, and has not published the specific file operation or code path involved. The gate is local access with high existing privileges and no user interaction; the public record does not disclose whether the result is arbitrary file access, broader account takeover, or only a narrower privilege-boundary crossing.
