CVE-2026-6566Network attack vector

Authenticated image deletion via unchecked gallery ownership

Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026

Broken object-level authorization in NextGEN Gallery 4.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' images. The DELETE /imagely/v1/images/{id} permission callback checks only the NextGEN Manage gallery capability and does not verify gallery ownership or permission to manage others' galleries. Subscriber-level access with that capability is sufficient, and the default deleteImg setting also removes the associated image files from disk.
