Stored XSS via unescaped visitor names
Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Stored XSS in affected Rocket.Chat releases allows remote attackers to inject attacker-controlled links into Omnichannel agent queue views. The unauthenticated POST /api/v1/livechat/visitor endpoint stores an unsanitized name, and InquireSidePanelItem.tsx inserts it through dangerouslySetInnerHTML without escaping. An agent must view the queue and click the injected link; the demonstrated consequence is redirection to an attacker-controlled domain with deceptive text.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
