User-assisted command execution via unescaped tab icon
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
Cross-site scripting in SiYuan Desktop before 3.7.2 allows remote attackers to execute operating-system commands through a malicious link. An uninstalled-plugin siyuan:// URL passes its icon parameter to app/src/layout/Tab.ts, which builds the tab header with innerHTML without escaping the value. Opening the link is required; the injected event handler runs with the desktop user's privileges because the Electron renderer exposes Node.js require.
