Stored XSS via unescaped carousel custom links
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
Stored XSS in Charlie Etienne Custom links in Elementor Image Carousel 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The attachment_fields_to_save callback stores the custom-link field without sanitization, and the render hook inserts that value directly into an href attribute without escaping. Author-level access can persist a payload that executes in a visitor's browser when the affected carousel is rendered, enabling actions within that visitor's WordPress session.
