Gatekeeper bypass via incomplete archive quarantine checks
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
File quarantine bypass in Apple's copyfile component allows attackers to use a crafted archive to bypass Gatekeeper checks. Apple identifies copyfile as the locus and says additional checks correct the bypass, but it has not disclosed the failed operation. Processing an attacker-supplied archive is required, and successful exploitation leaves its contents outside the expected Gatekeeper enforcement path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
