System crash or kernel-memory corruption via unchecked bounds
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Apple IOMobileFrameBuffer before version 27 allows apps to terminate the system or corrupt kernel memory. IOMobileFrameBuffer accesses memory outside valid bounds because app-supplied operations receive inadequate bounds checking. A locally installed app is required; the bounded consequences are a system crash or kernel-memory corruption.
