Application crash via undersized iLBC output buffer
Published Apr 30, 2026 · Updated Apr 30, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Wireshark 4.4.0 through 4.4.14 and 4.6.0 through 4.6.4 allows local users to crash the application. The iLBC size estimator reserves space for one decoded frame, while WebRtcIlbcfix_Decode writes every frame from a multi-frame RTP payload into that buffer. Exploitation requires a user to load a crafted capture and open Telephony RTP; the demonstrated consequence is an out-of-bounds heap write and process abort under AddressSanitizer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
