Heap overreads via unchecked response-length subtraction
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Integer underflow in Huawei openUBMC 26.06 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to trigger out-of-bounds reads. Three shared-transport response parsers subtract header or reserved-field sizes from device-supplied lengths without lower-bound checks, causing unsigned wraparound and reads beyond the response buffer. A malicious PLDM endpoint or Huawei NIC must respond on the internal management bus; applicability to the separately cataloged OpenBMC Project distribution is unverified.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
