CVE-2026-65064

Local IPC disclosure via insecure mmap backing-file creation

Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026

Information disclosure in Data::HashMap::Shared before 0.14 allows local users to read IPC payloads through an mmap backing file. In shm_generic.h, open() creates the path with mode 0666 and omits O_NOFOLLOW and O_EXCL, leaving default-umask files world-readable and accepting pre-planted files or symlinks. Exposure requires a file-backed segment in a shared directory such as /tmp or /dev/shm; local users can read its contents or redirect creation to an attacker-chosen path.
