Credential interception via ignored invalid certificates
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Dell RVTools before 4.8.1 allows remote attackers to intercept collector credentials and data. The collector accepts invalid or self-signed certificates without warning when connecting to vCenter or ESXi over HTTPS. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position and user interaction with a collection, exposing credentials and permitting collected data to be altered.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
