Authenticated script execution via popup attribute injection
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Reflected XSS in preview.php in ATutor 2.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim browser via the popup parameter. The preview.php frameset reflects popup into an HTML attribute without encoding quotation marks, so an injected double quote breaks attribute context and appends a handler such as onload; preview_top.php sanitization does not protect the parent frameset output. Reachability requires an authenticated attacker to induce another user to load the crafted request, and the exposed consequence is script execution in the ATutor origin with the victim's session context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
