HR data disclosure via unchecked employee selection
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Authorization bypass in Frappe HR PWA APIs allows remote authenticated users to read other employees' sensitive HR data. Functions in hrms/api/init.py accept a caller-supplied employee instead of deriving the employee from the authenticated session when retrieving attendance, shifts, leave balances, expense summaries, and advance balances. Any authenticated HRMS account suffices; the published impact is cross-employee data disclosure, not record modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
